Panchakarma means five actions and is the core of Shodhana in Ayurveda. According to the Ministry of AYUSH, the five procedures are Vamana (therapeutic emesis), Virechana (purgation), Niruha or Asthapana Basti (decoction enema), Anuvasana Basti (oil enema) and Nasya (nasal administration).
